Bernal Heights, a district within San Francisco, may just be the country’s hottest market. Home prices in the area have appreciated 111% in the last 6 years, and houses for sale only spent an average of 16 days on the market. Those that sold, sold for an average of 13% above asking. Trulia lists the median sale price for a 2-bedroom as $1.58 Million, which is a $200,000 increase from the previous year.
The area itself has previously flown under the radar, and has been home to artists and progressives for the last decade. It is just south of the Mission District, and on a clear day you can see the bay and the Golden Gate bridge from the hilltop that the town sits atop of. This place is quickly becoming popular amongst people working in the city in finance or tech who want a small-town feel to accompany the breathtaking views.
